COGLAS website reports after ~30s:

Service unavailable - Limited startup mode

No semaphore could be created for an IIS application pool worker at the default timeout of 30s.

According to the default setting, only one semaphore should be activated for the web service. If the previous one is still running, then no new semaphore can be started. The result is the displayed error message.

Why should only one semaphore be active?

  • If two semaphores or 2 IIS APPPOOL workers are running for a web service, then process data that is processed by the workers is processed twice.

  • Result = duplicate entries in the stock movement, possibly duplicate interface messages.

The message also prevents the web service from starting without the worker being properly connected to the chagestream and is working.

Action = Contact COGLAS Support. The web service and APPPOOL may have to be restarted.
